Onions are braised very slowly until they are sweet and caramelized.  Ethiopia’s signature spice blend, Berbere is added to the onions to make a thick paste.  White wine, homemade chicken stock, and chicken pieces are simmer in the sauce, with hard boiled eggs added at the end.
